Open Season The Internal Revenue Service is accepting IRPAC nominations beginning May 1, 2006 and ending July 14, 2006. IRPAC provides recommendations to IRS leadership on a wide range of information reporting and administration issues. Open Season for Membership - Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council The Internal Revenue Service is accepting nominations beginning June 1, 2006 and ending July 31, 2006. IRSAC members provide recommendations to IRS leadership on relevant tax administration issues. e-services - Online Tools for Tax Professionals Tax professionals and payers can now use the e-services suite of web-based products to do business with the IRS electronically. These services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from just about any computer with an internet connection. New products are now available, including the on-line e-file application. Disaster Relief Resource Center for Tax Professionals As a result of recent natural disasters many payroll and practitioner businesses have suffered significant losses from the devastation. The IRS and many of our national partners have put together this resource center for the impacted payroll and practitioner community, to provide assistance in reestablishing their businesses. Tax Talk Today Tax Talk Today is dedicated to providing continuing education and information for tax practitioners. Standards of Practice for Tax Professionals The Office of Professional Responsibiity (OPR) has put together a one-stop-resource shop for Tax Professionals. Special EITC and Child Tax Credit election for hurricane victims Hurricane victims who experienced smaller earned incomes in 2005 can elect to compute their 2005 EITC and additional child tax credit using their larger 2004 earned incomes. Taxpayers can get online access to their 2004 earned incomes for these computations with Your 2005 Earned Income Option. EFTPS Marketing Materials Order Form for Practitioners Tax professionals can now order free Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) marketing materials and enrollment forms directly from the internet. Use them to help your individual and business customers understand and reap the benefits of this safe, easy and efficient way to pay their taxes. For on-line enrollment visit www.eftps.gov. Legislation Allows Partial Payment Option The IRS implemented an additional payment option, on January 17, 2005, known as the Partial Payment Installment Agreement for taxpayers who have outstanding federal tax liabilities. This new payment option became possible with the passage of the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004.
